NEW FEBRUARY SUPPORT GROUP FORMING NOW!

Parents play an essential role in the life of their gifted child, but parenting a gifted child can be a lonely experience. Many parents feel isolated from the resources they need to successfully parent their gifted child.

parents_guide

These online Parent Support Groups bring 10-15 interested parents of gifted children together to discuss such topics as communication, motivation, discipline, intensity, perfectionism, and peer relationships.

The online facilitator of the group is knowledgeable about parenting and educating gifted children. The facilitator provides a non-judgmental and nurturing online discussion.

The parents of children with high ability are themselves a rich resource of information, and they are able to get fresh ideas from other parents and A Parent’s Guide to Gifted Children, the book around which the discussions are organised.

Dates: February 5, 12, 19, 26 and March 5, 12,19 and 25

Time: 8:00pm (NZDT) or 6pm (AEDT)

Facilitator: Susan Luus

Materials: Please purchase A Parent’s Guide to Gifted Children, Webb, Gore, Amend, and DeVries in advance of the discussion group. The book can be purchased from Amazon.com or directly from the publisher, Great Potential Press. Participation through high-speed Internet is recommended.
